Roleplay - Blue/Gold

He smiled again, looking directly at Artemis. "Overture," screamed a number of deep voices as tons of kinetic energy slammed against the front gate, warping the structure and blowing it off it's hinges as the air around it became somehow more clear, almost as if wreathing. Overture didn't move his mouth as the display occurred, and he stepped onto the campus.

Dorian rolled his eyes, "I'm Dorian. It's been three days since my last drink," he joked, nearly scratching at his neck, before bumping the collar he had on, withdrawing his hand. "What about you guys?"

"Gah--Fuck!" Artemis shouted, taking a moment to recover from the 'announcement'. He rushed for Overture, as armed guards rushed out of the building to meet the attacker, lining up to cover the facility's entrance. They aimed for him, allowing Artemis to speak for the school. "God dammit... Stand down, kid!" He shouted, forming a field around Overture.

"Ellis, Thea." He pointed to his fellow Gen-X victim. "Why do you have a collar?" He asked, as Ethan approached the group, still guarded. "Probably did some fucked up shit." He offered, shrugging.

Caspian, upon hearing the announcement to go to the subbasement sighed, "Well, Miss Leia, we have been called downstairs, so, let's go," Caspian left her room without waiting for Leia to follow. Caspian arrived on the sub-basement level and joined the growing crowd. "I'm here, you're welcome."

"Tch," Dorian said, crossing his arms. "Nothing I meant to happen. Except one thing, but those guys were in a gang." He shrugged.

Overture spread his arms as the pink barrier shattered, levitating several feet in the air. "Oh, yes. This is already looking to be much more interesting." He grimaced as his cape seemed to elongate just a bit, moving as if it were floating through a pool of water.

Before Ethan could respond to Dori, he raised his hands into the air, faking surprise. "Look, It's a girl I've never met!" He announced, pointing to Caspian. "Congrats, kiddos. You're the latest minority allegory junior squad." He continued, starting to walk again, past the others and toward the meeting room.

"Ugh, shit..." Artemis muttered, looking to the small troop guarding the building. Signalling for them to hold fire, he shot into the air, limbs surrounded with the same swirling, pink energy. "You do realize I can shut you down, fairly effortlessly, right?"

Overture's eyelids came down a bit heavier, as he laid on the condescension, raising an eyebrow. "Be my guest."

Dorian considered asking Ethan who was talking to him, but decided to not be a total jerk this early. "What do you mean," he said, trotting over. "Like X-Men?"

With the invitation, Artemis became a thousand times more nervous. Swallowing hard, he went to work on the move, though even with his amplifier he was unsure if he could pull it off. Most of his ability was focused on Overture's mind now, as shown by his slow descent toward the ground.

"Like The New Mutants." Ethan clarified, focused intently on the path ahead. "And just like them, we were all killed the moment they chose us."
Ellis simply observed from afar for a while, before deciding to rush forward, catching up with the rest.

"Been there, done that," Dorian growled, grabbing at the left side of his body. "I don't have any plans on dying anytime soon. Except maybe my hair." He looked back at the others. "So I guess we all just need to not @#$% anything up."

Overture too touched down towards the ground. It was a strange thing, to feel someone worming around, inside your mind. From Arty's point of view, a long hallway stretched out before him, black granite walls with projections of Overture's upon them. Many of them featured lavish holidays and solitary activities. Only one had another person in it. A picture of him, his sister, and their parents. Everyone smiling, but him. A great pink door before him, opened just a crack.

Thea followed after the group. She kept close to Ellis, whispering into his ear, "Is it just me, or are all the delinquents just extremely mean?"

While the guards opened the door, Ethan chuckled at Dorian's comment. "Good luck with that, kids." He muttered, as the door slid open, revealing Shadowcat and Colossus, standing in front of the entrance, though Jack was gone. "Guess it comes with the title." Ellis muttered as he crept in just behind the two, eyes fixed on Lockheed, who sat on Kitty's shoulders. He was hardly able to pay attention to the welcome Kitty gave, eyes darting between the dragon and his arm, comparing the physiology.

Artemis slowly walked down the hall, taking quick glances at the projections, hardly caring about their imagery. He'd seen some variation of this every time he'd enter a mind, the only twist would be aesthetic, and he's never seen one that impressed him. He kept walking, until meeting the door. Careful not to open it too suddenly, for both his and Overture's sake, he slowly peered through the opening.

Comparable to an escalator, Artemis was suddenly moving forward at rocketing speeds. He had been found. The door slammed open, to reveal an identical hallway, and again, and again and again the same scene repeated itself until finally he fell through a blue doorway.
An orchestra, or what may have been, situated within a circular concert hall. People lined every seat of the dankly lit place, all black and white silouhettes with dynamic, changing faces and the sound of tv static eternally surrounding them. Where the orchestra should have been playing, were instead all pale, transparent blue men and women, also lacking faces who were all decidedly beating each other with their instruments. High above on a stage in the room's center, women wearing masquerade masks dancing around while they totted pistols, firing one off every now and then as they bellowed operas, and between them all, hanging from the ceiling, Overture hung upside down from his ankles, covering his ears as tears flooded from his eyes, whispering something to himself.

"Ugh, why is everyone insane?!" Artemis shouted, waving between the abstract guests. His body dissipated, replaced with the silhouette of the teen, formed in pink flames, decorated with shifting, pitch black wiccan symbols. He was heading for the orchestra, assuming it to be the source he was looking for. His eyes darted between the women, simply searching for a vantage point.

Nothing in Overture's mind really seemed to tak note of Artemis, perfectly happy with it's own insanity.

Jack grinned as he watched this scene unfold. "Let's take this up a notch." He grinned, the gem removing from his hand, and falling into his palm, where after looking it over for a minute, he turned Artemis to full power, and grinned, waiting.

As the power hit through Artemis, he stopped in his path, frozen as his form spiked and bubbled, eventually exploding in pink light, and reforming moments after.

His astral form no longer carried Artemis' exact likeness, now instead an angelic winged man. His clothing was midnight black, detailed in pure white, while his skin remained the vibrant, glowing pink color. He seemed to be wearing a short robe now tied with a white snake swallowing its own tail. In addition, he'd been equipped with armor branded with the same iconography that patterned his skin earlier. A triquetra covered his chest, glowing white. A double-bladed axe formed in his grasp, seemingly drawn into existence. He'd tower over his original form at this point, the energy that created his form still flaring, refusing to settle into the shape. Small keys surrounded him, phasing in and out of Overture's mental landscape as they orbited around the figure.

Kitty inspected the group, briefly, frowning at the missing members. "Well, if Leia and Jack aren't coming..." She trailed off, walking around the table to its head. She turned it on, watching its lights as they faded into illumination. "We'll have to start without them." As she spoke, Lockheed moved off her shoulder, scampering toward the group as Ellis moved in, following Ethan. Taking only a glance at the dragon as he left her side, Kitty continued with the presentation. "Good evening, students. I'm Katherine Pryde, counselor to our private academy." She began, while her pet made its way to Ellis. "You all--And, the two who have decided not to attend--Have been chosen for our third reformatory team of X-Men."

Thea was watching the reptile approach Ellis, more enveloped in that than what the X-Man was announcing. She looked in between Ellis and Lockheed, comparing their physical qualities.

"Hey, I bet you guys could be like, half-brothers." She stated in a low voice, kneeling down and inspecting Lockheed.

"Maybe." Ellis muttered, still staring down at the dragon, which seemed mostly fixated on Ellis' arm. Ellis knelt down beside Thea, occasionally looking up to Kitty to catch up with her speech, though he did jump when he heard the 'X-Men' bit. "Hold up, X-Men?" He repeated, a brow raised.

Kitty glanced at Ellis, eyes lingering on the alien mutation he had. "... Yes, X-Men. You'll start training tomorrow, after you're fitted with your uniforms, and other... Safety equipment."

Thea looked up at Kitty, "Wait, but, isn't the X-Men role taken for the rich gold kids?" She questioned, "And aren't we supposed to be constantly supervised, like Stabby over there?" Thea pointed her thumb at Ethan.

"Stabby stab." Ethan nodded, giving a short stabbing gesture.

"The gold team is... Complicated." She began, shrugging in an inability to explain without being too blunt. "Technically, the reformation team is our real task squadron." She attempted. "Piotr and I will be primarily in charge of monitoring you. Through means I won't give away, however."

Overture's eyes squinted as they shot in a number of directions as the ground began to shake. Gripping both sides of his head, Overture's brain felt like it was on fire. "Stop! Stop!" The windows of the mansion began to shake furiously, as did the very foundation of the campus grounds. "I said stop."
An enormous shockwave was sent out, the only conscious extension of his power Overture was utilizing.

Despite his body falling to the floor, Artemis kept his focus on the projection. He stopped in his place, pressing his palms into each other, eyes glowing with white energy. A key formed behind him, encircled by a triquetra. At last, he started on unlocking the most sensitive part of Overture's mind, the first step in knocking him out.

Before she could continue, Kitty was cut off by the shaking ground. She returned to the table, finding security camera feed withing seconds. "God dammit..." She muttered, inspecting the field. The guards, trying to keep standing, shot at Overture, finally.

Thea tumbled over, having been balancing on her toes in her crouched position. She rubbed her head, which didn't really hurt, but wanted to emphasize she had feelings too. "Owch." She murmured, tugging on Ellis' already-ripped clothing to pull herself up.

Thea turned to the X-Man, "What was that?" She questioned, dusting off her clothing which was also unnecessary.

Ellis struggled to stand, hands pressing into the floor for support. Once he stood, his eyes went to the projected hologram, while Kitty ran toward the door, phasing through the table and small crowd of students. Colossus followed, trailed by a flying Lockheed.

Ethan simply leaned against the entrance, both cuffed hands pressed into the frame.

Leia jogged into the subbasement. She was late, but this time it was unintentional. She had changed into pair of ripped skinny jeans, black Converse high-tops, and a black v-neck shirt. "What've I missed?"

"Like, everything?" Ethan offered, looking around the room, searching. "We're X-Men, training's tomorrow. Try not to be late again--Or, y'know, fail at a revolution during breakfast." He continued, shuffling through the room as he looked through drawers and shelves.
