Main Roleplay

William fist pumped with his other hand. whispering 'hell yeah!'. In truth, he wasn't too afraid of dying. Hell, he should've died a long time ago. If anything, he was afraid of the pain. But looking at those who stood beside him... he was glad.

William got the happy ending he wanted.

"I think she will get here in her own time, I think she will want to make suspense, as I can recall, she did enjoy the theatrics of entrances and exits, or maybe that was someone else." Insano shrugged but kept her focus locked onto the entrance.

"What's Leia even doing?" Anna questioned the older woman's methods, she still not having returned from her quest off. "Searching the base, maybe?"

"So... what're we doing?" Delilah asked no one really, looking around her. "I mean, we can only defend so much."

"We are buying time," Matt said in response to Delilah, "Ellis is taking Artemis somewhere, I think he has a plan going on. But, I was never told anything."

"Buying time..." Delilah muttered, nodding in understanding.

Leia wandered the halls of the bunker, twirling the staff. She whistled, laughing at herself a bit. She felt like she was in the beginning of a horror movie, soon to be the victim. Dead men don't wear plaid she though jokingly to herself, laughing a bit at the thought.

Ellis, though struggling, managed to get Artemis over his shoulder, though he hunched over with the weight. Looking back to the mutants for a moment, he knew exactly what would happen if Artemis' plan didn't work, and he was as prepared as he could ever be.

While Ace took the three corners not occupied by Ellis' work space, Ellis ran out of the room, phasing through the wall and dashing in the halls, searching for the furthest room from an entrance. Each of Ace's forms took a different color--pink, blue, and yellow--All flaring with the bright-burning energy that had begun to run out in his uniform. In the constantly shifting, fast-burning form, an expression couldn't be made out, the only cloak hiding Ace's fear of the inevitable.

Outside, the two remaining true X-Men guarded the bunker. Logan at the door, claws popped in preparation. Kurt Wagner hung from one of many pipes that made up a mess in the underground hall's ceiling, preparing for his work as a moving target, distracting the team's only opponent for as long as he could manage, his whispered plead for protection hardly audible past the condense, sound-proofed walls of the bunker.
"... Strengthen me where I feel weak and clothe me with your light..." His voice faltered, reflecting both his anxiety and worn-down status as a senior member of the team.
"... Fill me with your life. Lord Jesus, please send your holy angels to minister to me and protect me from all forms of sickness, harm and accidents..." He continued, Logan still staring down the dark hall ahead.

Insano chuckled, "Drink with me, today's gone by, to the light, that used to be." She sang this only half mockingly as it only seemed fitting to sing the song of the revolutionists, the song that they sang just before they died. "Damn do I wish I had some whiskey."
"Vodka has always been my choice," Matt said, Insano shrugged and se had guessed that it would have been.
"Russia." Matt said simply.

Dorian stood just outside the room Ace did. Arcs of blue electricity hopped from finger to finger as it did off the metal walls and floor. He was in a state of intense concentration, clouds and mist gathering around him as he called upon power. The Storm fluttered for a brief moment as Dorian took a moment and considered perhaps, before he died, if-- no, there was no time to dwell on that. He shut his eyes as electrified vapors grew, and he hid behind the mist.

"Praying to your God?" cooed a sultry, mocking voice that approached, footsteps echoing against the cold, hard ground. "Such concepts are redundant in my presence. Wouldn't you agree?"
They didn't scream.
They couldn't scream.
They couldn't do a thing.
The heavy metal door gave no sign, no single groan of cause or effect, nor even vibration on the air. In the span of a thought, a human shaped hole, it's edges glowing an orange hue as they liquefied, and the glittering platinum form of Eve flitted, faster than anything should, towards the body of Scarlet Turner.
She reached into the girl's chest, stopping for the first time, now clearly visible. She wore a long white ball gown the fell just about her ankles with high, black pumps around her feet. Hair like snow cut short and teased, with skin like ivory and eyes of chrome.
Not a single indication that she had even touched Insano physically, but suddenly Eve held by the neck a rendition of Scarlet-- her very soul. She smiled to reveal perfectly normal, human, teeth, and the silhouette of the X-Man was engulfed in ethereal, unearthly flames of silver, burning away at her very being.

In seconds, Ace's forms dissipated into the air, reforming just as bright in the halls of the bunker. He had no time to react, no time to reflect on the attack. In a continuous, random pattern, he continued to travel through the bunker, physically manifesting for less than a second for the simple reason of relaxing his abilities, before disappearing again without a trace.

Ellis continued to run, his pace only speeding as he traveled through the hideout, before stopping in the makeshift Cerebro, tucked away deep into the dark, damp, labyrinth of a base. The room only contained the first, basic form of the mutant-finding machine, aged beyond use at this point. It was caked in dust, and only comprised of a bulky chair and a blocky computer setup. He set Artemis down, taking the opportunity to rest.

As if unstunned by the attack, Insano swiped at Eve, her eyes flushing green, turning to Scarlet. She let out a blissful sigh, "sweet relief," she whispered, her voice coming out strained and pained, tears of mixed emotions streamed from her eyes, not that anyone would be able to see them. "Jack."
Matt screamed a loud, Russian no, as Scarlet was her motherly figure, and now she was gone, she sank to her knees, clutching her chest.

Thea followed after Ellis, lacking behind a few paces with the intent of being a distraction in case Eve was trailing them. The sounds of her dual pistols clacked along with her every step.

Ellie sprung up into the air, a faint illumination trailing after her. Orbs of light flickered into existance as she faced Eve, in line with the others.

William took out his knife and redirected his bruises into his knuckles, determined to go down fighting.

George stood behind the others with Rose, more frantic than ever.

As soon as Insano touched Eve, a sick, scintillating disease crawled through his body from the point of impact, slowly overtaking him. He was turning to gold.
Water shot out of Matt's mouth, flooding the inside of her body. Her belly distended and the clear liquid drained from her nostrils and ears as well, mixing with blood as her eyes became waterfalls.
The orbs of light surrounding Ellie suddenly we overtaken, becoming an oozing, black liquid. Needle-like spears shot out from them toward Ellie.
Eve walked forward towards the next room at a leisurely pace, as if she didn't even notice the rest, even if they were in the way.

Ellie managed to shake off the liquid that hung from her hands, swooping around the room in an effort to dodge the spears. Catching a glimpse of Eve, she grit her teeth and launched towards her direction, shooting white orbs at her from Ellie's hands, which would normally explode on impact.

Anna morphed into a coyote, growling and getting into a stance. She ran at Eve as well, wondering how well the woman would handle multiple attacks. Well, she knew. Perfect. She would swipe them both away as if they were flies, but she would take the chance.

Leia turned to look behind her. She had made her way farther into the bunker, but could hear some of the commotion from the main room. Her eyes wide, she started to sprint towards the main room once more.

Delilah covered her mouth with her hand, suppressing a scream. She instantly turned invisible, attempting to conceal herself. She phased through a wall beside her, going through it to get behind Eve.

Rose stood in front of George, putting two fingers up to each temple. With all of the power she could muster, she sent a psychic bolt at Eve, hoping it would be strong enough to at least phase her a bit.

Drake watched as Scarlet's life drained away, his eyes turning red instead of their normal black. All of the joking, and ways he passed by his overbearing depression and mental trauma faded, leaving the empty shell of the normal Drake. Veins under his eyes now protrude to the surface, all of them a deep black and grey. He stood, stunned for a moment as he saw the once love of his life die in front of him, and then with speed that normally would cause him to pass out from exhaustion, he propelled himself at Eve, going for her neck with claws that had grown on his thumbs, pressing in, knowing that he was going to die any second, but wounding her any amount was his goal. As he attacked images flashed before him. Him and Scarlet first meeting in the first games, their connection once they were out, the days that were filled with just her. Just her stunning beauty, his Scarlet. Images of their fight, and the four years that passed. Everything.

No motion of acknowledgment, George's head simply exploded, spattering all over Rose.
Delilah suddenly became corporeal, half-phased through the wall.
Eve's hand actually snapped up, wrapping around the canine's throat, holding it up in the air.
Drake stopped in motion, no longer allowed to move freely. Eve actually slowed, if just for a moment, to grimace, but she did not move her head. "Are you deaf? Jack, not 'Drake'." She merely turned her head, just a few inches, to look in his general direction.
She just looked at him and he was nothing more than a dark imprint burnt into the wall.
"And you," she said, turning to Anna. "Have something I want." Anna was pulled, and for all her strength she could not free herself, through the surface of Eve's hand, her biomass being commandeered by the entity, before Eve continued on.

Dylan was still as the chaos unfolded around him. He couldn't move, he had shutdown. Not now, this was not the time to have a break down. He looked in the direction of Ellie as she was attacked, and then sprung into motion, running towards Eve, and hitting her across the face, acid spilling out of his gloves, spraying across her face. He moved back quickly, and turned to Ellie, running on pure adrenaline now.

"Doesn't matter who she said, Eve." Drake said, struggling against the paralysis, "I'm still going to try my fucking best to take you down." He said as he slowly began to move his arms, using all of his strength to break free from whatever she had down. After regaining himself, he attacked again, running at her and kicking her in the chest, and with the single fluid motion, he pulled out one of her eyes, falling back onto the floor in front of her, due to the extreme speed it took to follow through with the task.

Ace, still speeding between hallways and bunkers rooms in faint streams of light before collecting into bright silhouettes, still trying to avoid Eve's path until he was needed.
His process was interrupted once he felt the need to attack, dissipating and traveling to the 'main' room of the bunker. For no more than a second, his three figures returned to their silhouettes, passing through Eve before disappearing again, in rapid succession, then returning to the halls.

William looked back to Delilah, furrowing his eyebrows as he stopped in his tracks, throwing his knife at Eve at an alarming speed.

Ellie was still firing all she had at Eve as fast as she could. Did they have a chance in defeating her, even with an advantage in numbers? Seeing how easily she's picking us off... probably not. These thoughts ran back in her head, along with a million other things.

Ellie's bolts of energy hit Eve, but she continued onwards, unfazed, as she absorbed the energy.
The platinum paragon spun around at an alarming speed, grabbing the blade out of the air before flicking it at Ellie.
Eve cracked her neck as a broadsword, quite detailed an intricate, actually, materialized. Composed of some azure energy, it shot forward toward William.
Ace had actually caught Eve by surprise. The corner of her mouth twitched as he attacked and she experimentally grabbed one of the bright figures from the air, holding it in place, strange pixelated fire around her hand. "Oh, yes. The one who turns into neon," she sighed, tightening her grip and shattering it.
Rose was actually left untouched, almost as if deliberately, but perhaps she was simply unnoticed.

Dylan saw the blade flying towards Ellie, and without hesitation, he moved in front of her. The blade landed in his lower abdomen, and he fell to his knees. His mind had gone blank, other than one superior motive, to protect Ellie. Blood began to slowly soak, and burn his shirt, dripping down onto the floor, where it sizzled and made a small burn mark. He pulled it out, already in enough pain that anything further was nothing more than a numb throbbing. He removed the blade fully, it now soaked in acid. He reared back, and launched the sword at Eve, making impact.(You choose where idk)

Eve just stared blankly as Dylan launched himself at her. The blade went straight through her, as did his hand, and the the rest of him.
Eve was suddenly next to Ellie, hanging upside down in the air as if gravity had been reversed. She reached an arm out, which penetrated Ellie's neck, gripping the girl's spinal cord, before tearing it out and throwing it, head and all, into the air in a single, smooth motion.
Ellie's body stood for a half-moment, blood spurting and dripping everywhere, collapsing like a doll.
"Mmm. I'm starting to get a bit bored," Eve mused.
She was instantaneously in the hallway, the way behind her sealing itself shut. The pressure of that room began to increase as the metal walls screamed and by Eve's will the space closed in on itself, killing everyone inside.
Eve strolled down through the hallway, tapping her nails along the metal walls. "Ace... Come out and play..."

Spinning out once his second duplicate was destroyed, his third exploded once Ace lost focused. He fell to the floor, entirely physical with a leg now missing, the wound cauterized by the element that nearly made up the majority of his body. Once he heard Eve, he began to panic, quickly reforming his artificial limbs and scrambling to stand. He managed to get back into his form, though a third of his neon was now gone, only able to speed through the halls and into an equipment room to rest.

Leia never made her way to the main room until the end, backing up quickly when she saw it sealed off. "Fuck, fuck, fuck," she muttered to herself, closing her eyes for a moment. She opened them again, trying to blast the wall open with energy. No dice, though. With the failure, she ran down one hall, hoping she would run into someone who had gotten away.

Eve tapped on the door Ace was behind three times, before walking away. "I'll be back after I acquire my prize," said her voice, as if she was right next to him. Handy little tricked she picked up from one of their dead friends.
Eve decided it was high time to clean up, not wishing to waste too much time. She began sailing through the hallways silently, her feet not moving, making no sound as she simply glided along the floor.
Then Dorian found her. At least, he thought he had found her. He didn't even consider that perhaps she had found him.
"Time to end this," he muttered to himself, running down the metal shaft, electricity bouncing off of his body as his flesh transmuted into lightning. Eve faced him with the same cold apathy she had everyone else.
Dorian thought maybe, just maybe, if he could catch her off guard, surprise her, he could make her vulnerable. Jumping from wall to wall as a living stream of electrons, his voice cried out as he sought to spin kick the shit out of this monstrosity. All she did was raise an eyebrow and he reverted back to his normal human form, bright red chains wrapping around his limbs, pulling and stretching his body. He screamed then.
Eve, walked past him before continuing on, feeling a stitch in the fabric of space on a psychic level. Yes, she was correct to follow it here. The Phoenix would soon be hers.
