This power does require people to be near by; meaning anything without emotion could be a really good prison guard. Keep people away; keep his power under wraps. History (past & leading up to rp): Vance was raised in Santa Fe, as a kid he was obsessed with superheroes. The Iron Rebel, Aegis, Accelerate and Toxin especially. He was a nerd is pretty much what this means. Bullied and beaten; he always wanted someone, anyone even to come save him... But of course; no one came. Until he turned 14. It was the last time he would be bullied by his peers; as he became their worst nightmare. Turns out; one of them had some real issues with spiders. And that's what he became... A human sized spider. At first sight; these kids ran off. Leaving him to wonder at himself. As soon as they were gone; Vance returned to normal. He didn't know what was going on; none of the heroes he had seen had this specific power; but he did have a theory. Maybe he was a mutant... He had heard about them. These mutants from the TV. Something about them being cursed by God with faulty DNA that gave them devil powers. Sara Taylor was a religious nut and a huge mutophobe. Her worst fear? As her son learned? That her son could possibly be a mutant. It didn't matter what he transformed into when she had her heart attack; the transformation alone would've been enough; so I'll spare the details. Vance acted quickly; calling the ambulance. But it was too late already. Sara Taylor died because her son was a genefreak. The guilt he felt; nearly made him run to the MRD. But no, there was no cure for what he was. There was only one chance. He had to get to that Mutant school upstate. That's all there was to it. Using his inheritance money; he took a plane to New York and hitchhiking the rest of the way to Bayville...
